WOOOWWWWWWW!!it is so insane to say that i am in the middle of MONTH SIX of my race!!! like 2/3 of the way through… like only 3 months left… like i’ve been traveling around for His Kingdom for half a year. what the heck!! in honor of this being the most memorable 6 months of my life, i thought i’d slow it down and reminisce on all that’s happened. and of course share it with you. so here it is: my top sixes!
—
songs i’ll never forget:
1. so will i (100 billion X) by hillsong united – God is so powerful and worthy of endless praise just as creation praises Him
2. how far i’ll go by alessia cara – i was born to be a island princess
3. it is well by kristene dimarco and bethel music – ugh just so sweet to remember how good the Lord is
4. fuego by billy buster – this one we went HAM to at church every week in Honduras, WE ARE ON FIRE FOR HIS NAME
5. better in time by leona lewis – helped heal my heart and soul in the cheesiest way
6. reckless love by cory asbury – his love is incomprehensible to our minds, and that’s so okay
Bible verses that the Lord has taught me through:
1. 2 Corinthians 5:17 – “therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come; the old has gone, the new is here!”
2. Ephesians 5:8 – “for you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. live as children of light”
3. Romans 8:35-39 – “who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall trouble or harship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword? as it is written, ‘for your sake we face death all day long; we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered.’ no, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. for i am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
4. Philippians 1:6 – “being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”
5. 2 Timothy 2:13 – “if we are faithless, he remains faithful, for he cannot disown himself.”
6. Isaiah 43:18-19 – “forget the former things; do not dwell on the past. see, i am doing a new thing! now it springs up; do you not percieve it? i am making a way in the wilderness and a stream in the wasteland.”
very, very memorable moments:
1. waking up, dancing on a chicken bus, and running through an early, silent antigua, guatemala at 5 am to then hike pacaya the volcano with some squamates
2. hiking the mountain we lived on with Iris, Michelle, Kate, and Abby in honduras and sliding in cow poop until i was crying of laughter (and maybe peed my pants a little..)
3. biking around an abandoned airport with Iris and our translator in cambodia feeling His vastness and freedom
4. going out for Galentine’s Day with my team to a fancy restaurant where we had to leave because we all ended up obnoxiously crying laughing by the end of the meal.
5. when i gave a monkey the peel of a fruit to get it to come to me and then it got really mad that i tried to trick it and released it’s fury at a temple in cambodia on the side of a cliff
6. squeezing 14 more people onto an already packed chicken bus in Honduras.. with entire sheet cakes, trays of sandwiches, and jugs of soda.
best foods i’ve had:
1. veggie fried noodles from the Noodle Man in cambodia
2. frijolis chips in honduras
3. 7/11 thai tea in thailand
4. baleadas in honduras
5. iced mochas from Fat Cat Cafe in guatemala
6. fried plantains in latin america
most important things the Lord has taught me:
1. if im desperately looking for something in someone else, im probably just searching for more in my relationship with Him.
2. you can’t recieve what you don’t ask for.
3. i have authority in this world through Him.
4. He calls me to be so creative and wild and free that wanting to live a “normal” life is a waste of time.
5. pursue what’s on my heart because He will always out-dream me.
6. stop waiting and take a step of faith, then He will meet and bless me.
