God dreams big. “For as the sky soars high above earth, so the way I work surpasses the way you work, and the way I think is beyond the way you think.” (Isaiah 55:9 MSG) you may think, “lol ok thats a pretty generic statement… yeah he made the universe and it’s pretty big..” but then why do we as a people not pursue our dreams and goals when we have a God so expansive on our side?
who are you? what do you like? what has changed your perspectives? if you could do anything in the world what would you do? when God created big ideas of galaxies far off and weird fish communities in the deep ocean, he put the desire to be different on your heart too. and you’re supposed to follow it.
the Lord invites us to open up to Him in order to awaken the parts of us sleeping so deeply that no dreams are happening. it’s almost a coma rather than a sleep. God is on your side. always has been; always will be.
don’t think im saying you have to have it all figured out and give God an outline of your plans. not in the slightest. none of us have it figured out out here as we follow His calling across the world, believe me…. but try giving the Lord access to the place in your heart where your desires are living. He will figure out what needs to be done. He knows if your dreams align with his and if they do you’ve got an adventure comin for ya. just give him a chance to make something happen.
fortunately for our meager minds, that means you don’t have to worry about “how” something will happen. i genuinely do not know how i was able to make it on the world race. ive always been t e r r i b l e at managing my money. it always just seemed to be gone. in order to be where i am now, i had to purchase about $1000 worth of gear. in a month. im tellin yall there is NO way in HECK i wouldve been able to do it if i wasnt doing it to fulfill a big dream the Lord had given me. somehow i just always had money when it came down to getting what i needed to be ready for this trip. and trust me i was not any better about saying no to an afternoon grande iced soy latte.
God created us to crave more and he wants to help us reach our goals!!!!! as humans we are rarely satisfied. a lot of times that is sin twisting our desires but when it comes to our relationships with the Lord it’s okay to want more and more of Him!!!!!!!! in fact i would challenge you to never be satisfied in just chillin alongside whatever the Lord is doing in and for you. never stop dreaming with him. never stop creating a life of possibilities for him. dream deep. dream wide. a heart alive is a heart that is awake and curious and hungry for more. “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be fulfilled.” (Matthew 5:6 NIV)
