The correct question is where is eSwatini. The small country formerly known as Swaziland is just north of South Africa.

We arrived here last Monday after spending 5 days in South Africa debriefing the Squad AND.. having team changes.

Team changes happen to switch up who is doing ministry together. We also switch up the roles on the team: who is a team leader, who is a treasurer, etc. With that, we also raise up a few individuals on the team to be Squad Leaders.

I’m leaving the field at the beginning of March, so one of my priorities this month is working with our mentor and my co-leader to train the raised up Squad Leaders to care for the Squad.

These last few days have been FULL, including grocery shopping for 40 people, going to the clinic (stomach bug), meeting some of the staff here, and training as a new leadership team.

I think I have new revelation of the Lord and myself every 40 minutes we are together. It’s that deep, intentional, vulnerable conversation that leaves you ready for either a 5 mile run of a 2 hour nap. Energized and exhausted, full and a little hungry.

I’m in a position to be teaching but I’m absolutely receiving far more than I pour out.

It’s been beautiful!

We are staying as a whole squad at a base where Adventures in Missions is partnered with Children’s Hope Chest, which sponsors local children. Here our teams are broken down further into different ministries. Some examples of the ministries are:

Visiting care points that feed and minister to children, teaching and playing at preschools, visiting houses and handing out shoes, making crafts with and supporting the local women, weeding and planting produce, fixing and maintaining the care points, serving the office staff by organizing and compiling data for the organization and their leadership academy.

So far, my main ministry has been training. In the next coming weeks, I look forward to being able to see into the organization as a whole and into the various moving parts that make this so successful.

Thanks for your prayers!

PRAYER REQUEST:

I have just a few short weeks on the field with my Squad before flying back into the States. I’m looking forward to learning how to support my squad from the states as well as seeing where the Lord takes me in this next season. Please pray for wisdom and discernment in following and serving the Lord.

I’m also still fundraising. I have a total of $3,440 to raise in order to be fully funded. This makes it possible for me to visit my Squad out on the field to debrief them and pour into them in Central America as well as finishing the World Race with them in Ecuador.

This has truly been an incredible experience and it’s not over yet! Thanks for keeping up with me, thanks for supporting me, thanks for loving me!
