In the midst of the hustle and bustle of my first event season on staff at AIM, I moved!

Well, I didn’t move all of my stuff.. I haven’t been home yet since getting off the field in March. BUT with my two bags and the few things I’ve accumulated since arriving back in the States, I moved myself into a home that came with three beautiful roomies.

This morning I woke up in another borrowed bed, but this time in a room all to myself in a house that I will call home for.. well I don’t know how long for sure.

I reflected on commitment.

I do like commitment.. but I realized that in the last two years, I have only committed to change.

I haven’t lived in one place longer than a month. I carry my bags inside, unpack enough to feel at home, and then carry them out when it’s time to move on. I’ve learned to pour myself out for short periods of time and then run to the next place I’ll call home.

It hasn’t quite sunken in: I have a full time job, I just moved into a house, I’m settling into Georgia….

Instead of looking forward to the short term missions, I get to follow the Holy Spirit long term here in Gainesville. I have the opportunity to invest in individuals differently and receive all of the gifts and lessons that come with living in steady community.

It still feels odd.. but I’m reminded that God has a plan and a purpose in this season just as much as he has in the past. Commitment to the Lord is the same in America as it is overseas and I’m excited to see what lies here and now.

In just a few weeks, I’m meeting O-Squad down in Colombia!!

Please pray for me to see the Lord in the hustle and bustle and the still and quiet moments. For me to find community to invest in and find strangers to share the love of Jesus with. That the Lord would continue to minister to me and teach me about love and commitment. And for my brothers and sisters still on the field, that they wouldn’t grow weary in doing good and that they would encounter the Lord and continue sharing him everywhere they go!

Yes! Thank you so much!!
