Every day my teammates walk to the soccer field to play with the kids who live in Arcalia,
the village we’re living in this month.

The kids always want appa, or water, from our water bottles.

These are more common than cars are in our village.

They weren’t kidding at training camp when they served us this cornmeal stuff.

A Sunday stroll through the park that houses a castle in our village.

Me hanging out of the train that takes us into town.
The bandana signifies, “No, I haven’t washed my hair in at least two days.”

A big part of our ministry is helping out our host family. We helped pick potatoes for the winter one day.

There were a lot of potatoes.
