Hey everyone.  I’m sorry that I’ve taken so long to update you on what’s been happening in Guatemala.  There’s a fried chicken restaurant (Pollo Campero) just down the street from our house that has wi-fi.  I tend to get overwhelmed when our big group of 16 goes there to eat an ice cream cone everyday and use the internet and clean facilities.  When all but 3 of us here have computers (me being one of those 3), it gets harder to have the time I really want to take care of my personal stuff online.  But anywho…here ya go!

MINISTRY
Our contact here in Puerto Barrios, Paul, has been really busy with a switchover of the Shofar Ministries radio broadcast.  Four of our team, along with some engineers and electricians, made a strenuous hike up a mountain carrying heavy equipment to the bigger radio tower.  With this new radio power, the message of Jesus Christ will be heard throughout most, if not all, of Guatemala!  Praise God for this expansion!

Since Paul was really occupied with Shofar radio stuff, the 2 teams worked with some guys who worked there and with Pastor Willie of El Calvario church of Santo Tomas.  We did some construction for a family’s house to make it habitable.  We’ve also played sports and had conversations with the locals a nearby park.  Twice now, team NEON has gone to a local orphanage to play with the kids and also do some major cleanup.  The majority of our team wants to pour our energy into that orphanage.  Next week we will be going back out there practically every day to do some vacation Bible school type teaching and fun with the kiddos.  Please pray for our future work there and that God would transform the owner’s heart.  I pray that we can bring joy and life into that sad place.

Yesterday was difficult, but amazing.  Our van blew another tire along the way to our ministry site.  Many of us have been learning to hear the voice of God and to speak out/share what we hear.  Apparently through hearing His voice and prayer, we were saved from an accident.  We are learning to encourage each other to build up our faith and trust in how God speaks to us individually and as a group.

PRAYER
I ask that you pray for the health of the entire June squard.  Many of the people on the teams have become very ill with stomach bugs and such.  It really drains our energy and focus and takes time away from ministry when we’re all wanting the bathroom or to lie down all day to be comfortable.  Satan will use whatever he can to stop our work out here so please pray that we will overcome all this attack.

My next blog is about a rough experience in ministry….please read, be encouraged and pray for us!

Thank you all again for your financial support.  I pray that through whatever you are going through at home, this blog is uplifting and you’re seeing the fruits of your giving. 🙂

Let’s Race!
