Overwhelmed is a massive understatement to how I feel.

Texts, calls, emails, comments and all kinds of words of encouragement fled through my inbox and all forms of social media when I made my announcement about joining the World Race in January. My heart was over joyed at the love and support I felt from each of you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, this journey would be nothing without each of you cheering me on from the sidelines, you keep my heart full and my mind focused.

Now comes the fun part- good ol’ fundraising. To be honest, I’ve been slacking in this department, mostly because I’m just plain scared. $16,000 is not a small amount and I think about it almost constantly.

I know I know, “God won’t ever give you more than you can handle!” or “God’s will God’s bill!” but as a natural realist (if you will), I still bury my face in my pillow at night thinking, “Lord, I don’t know how this is going to be possible.”

But who am I to doubt a great God?

While the physical dollar amount might scare me, my God doesn’t. In fact, He knows exactly how I will get each dollar, how much each person will donate, which major blessings I will receive, and that gives me comfort.

For we don’t feel faith, we act in faith. If we all felt faith all the time jumping out of an airplane or quitting a job would be no big deal, no act of faith required.

Faith is the adrenaline rush we need to fuel our feelings.

As I was sitting there at Chick Fil-A for my first fundraiser last Friday, I felt like an idiot. “What  if no one comes?!” was my thought for the first 2.5 hours of a 3 hour event. Yet, like clock work, my friends and family showed up at the 11th hour and I sat back the last half hour, smiling to myself because I knew this was a metaphor for this journey.

I acted in faith, set up the fundraiser, and even when it seemed pointless and stupid, abundance came at the last minute. God sure loves to make us sweat a little.

So dearest friends and family, here is my official “BIG ASK” if you will. If just 50 of my Facebook friends donate $50 I will have $2,500 locked and loaded. And It’s a nice dent in the $16,000. To donate:

  1. Click on the “Support Me!” tab on the left hand side.
  2. If you decide to do check, send it to: Adventures in Missions, PO Box 742570, Atlanta, GA 30374-2570 *write my name in the memo line

My next big fundraiser will be on Saturday July 12th, I will be hosting a garage sale at my home (2975 Lombardy Lane Corona CA 92881) from 8AM-1PM. If you have things you would like to donate to be sold at the garage sale, please email me at [email protected] or text or call me! I’d be more than happy to take it off your hands (:

Again, endless love for each of you. Off to dumpster dive!
