God has been whispering two words to me this week:
Fluid Stability
I had never heard those words together and had no context for understanding what He was trying to show me. So I asked, “What does that even mean?!?”
God explained that He has made me stable. He has spent years solidifying my understanding of who He is and who I am in Him. I am rooted. I am grounded. My foundation is secure.
“Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock. But everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.” When Jesus had finished saying these things, the crowds were amazed at his teaching, because he taught as one who had authority, and not as their teachers of the law. -Matthew 7:24-29
So I am stable, but how can I be fluid and stable at the same time? The two words didn’t seem to go together….until I heard about the moving rocks in Death Valley.

They are often referred to as sailing stones, the rocks (some weighing as much as 700 lbs.) move across Death Valley seemingly on their own. There are a few theories as to how this happens, including high winds and ice particles. Reasoning aside, I could only think of the words the Holy Spirit has been whispering to me as I heard about the rocks.
Jesus is always moving. He is always bringing light into the darkness. He is always bringing life where there is death. He is always speaking. He is always healing. He is always moving.
If Jesus is my rock, my firm foundation, my stability, then won’t I be moving as well?
Fluid stability.
The security I have found in my Savior is not meant for me and me alone. It is meant to be shared. I am going with my Savior wherever He is moving.
The earth is the Lord’s, and all it contains, the world, and those who dwell in it. For He has founded it upon the seas and established it upon the rivers. -Psalm 24:1-2
