Are You For Real?!?!

So I wake up every morning and I am just so floored at the fact that….I'm in freaking Albania!

WHAT?!?!

How did this happen? Well let me tell you friends…it was no easy (or short) journey! So it started out with a 13 hour flight from Atlanta to Amsterdam. Fun times! And then a 4 hour flight to Istanbul. Now when we where at Launch they informed us of the fact that we would have a 12 hour bus ride…I had mentally prepared for that…but when we landed in Istanbul we found out we were extremely wrong. Twelve  hours turned into 26 hours spent in a bus! IT WAS AWESOME! We got to drive through Turkey, Macedonia, and Greece to get to our destination in the middle of nowhere Albania! 43 hours of travel and we finally pulled up to a camp full of rambunctious Albanian children!

My dream come true! Our ministry this month is to go from camp activity to activity with the children and to spend time with the staff.

There are a few children who speak very limited English so they have spent time attempting to teach us the language. The Albanian language is beautiful but a fairly difficult language to pick up! I'm determined to be able to communicate with these kids! Even though there is a language barrier that has not stopped me from just totally loving on these beautiful children!

Yesterday I became a bit frustrated that I had no way of telling these kids how much God loved them. I could show them that I loved them but how do you let a little kid that doesn't understand you that there is a God who is crazy about them?!?!? Most of these kids and even staff members are either Muslim or Agnostic and have no concept of who Jesus is! So as I sat with about eight little girls God told me to go get my guitar (music is a universal language). When I got back the kids swarmed around me and wanted to touch and play my guitar. For a couple of minutes it was mass chaos but then God told me to teach these kids the simple song and phrase "He loves us, Oh how He loves us". It was the most beautiful sight and sound that I have ever heard! They had no idea what they were singing but I know that in that moment God was doing something. These kids where worshiping the God who created them and loved them (even though they had no idea) and it was beautiful!

I wish I could have captured that moment for each and every one of you to experience because it was life changing! In that moment I realized that the sole purpose I was created for was to bring worship to the nations! Not just music but a realization of the depth of love between an individual and God our Father! Now that is worship!

This whole experience hasn't been easy by any means but what an amazing experience! I can't wait to share more with you all 🙂 The new kids come Monday! Pray for strength and wisdom to pick up the language quickly!
