Yo! What up??? So I haven't blogged in forever! This may be a little bit long but man God has been revealing some awesome stuff! HE IS SO GOOD!!!! Enjoy!!!!! HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY EVERYBODY!!!!!
My world was rocked! Everything was starting to make sense! Wow what a revelation!
Yesterday as I sat on the porch swing rocking back and forth I just closed my eyes and tried to soak in every word being spoken to me at that moment.
You see, my brother Daniel, just arrived home from Tanzania, Africa and DANG!!!!!!!! Let me tell you: GOD SHOWED UP!!!!!! I could type story after story of crazy awesome things that happened to them and incredible miracles that they saw firsthand! It was getting me so pumped up for The World Race and then Daniel told me something that completely changed my life forever! And that is what I am going to blog about today 
WARNING: What you are about to read will rock your world! So hold on and get ready because here it comes!
As Daniel was telling stories about the many dangers of Tanzania that God saved them from the main one that kept coming up where the countless Witch Doctors that exist all over in that area. These Witch Doctors are the real deal! They are very dangerous and hold a lot of power over the people. When he was there they had many run ins with these guys. Finally, after a few weeks of being there someone told them that the Witch Doctors were actually afraid of them and respected them greatly because they were still alive. The Witch Doctors admitted that whatever “magic” they were using was much more powerful than their own so the people flocked to Daniel and his team. They wanted to know the power and the authority that they walked in and why they had no fear of the magic and curses the Witch Doctors were trying to put on them.
They preached the Gospel message to all who asked about it and many times the people who came to them would tell them that they already believed in Jesus and went to church but they were still tormented and fearful of the powerful magic of the Witch Doctors. They kept asking, “What do you have that is different?”
The preacher they were staying with explained to Daniel and his team that in Tanzania there are three different kinds of people:
1. Muslims
2. Nominal Christians
3. Born Again Believers
The Witch Doctors know who they have power over and who they do not. Obviously, Muslims are non-believers so they can do whatever they want to them. (NOW HERE IS THE CRAZY PART)
There are two types of Christians: Nominal and Born Again. The difference between the two is that Nominal Christians are those that merely go to church, know the truth, and believe in Jesus but that is it. They have no true relationship or desire to know the Lord and the power and authority that He has given us. Believe it or not the Witch Doctors know that they do, in fact, have power over these people to!
Now the Born Again Christians are a whole different story. They terrify the Witch Doctors and they avoid them at all costs because they know that they walk in an authority that is so authentic and powerful they can’t mess with them. Born Again Christians are those who have had an authentic and real confession of faith and are living it out every day in passionate pursuit of the One who has saved them: Jesus Christ! The Holy Spirit has given them revelation of the power and authority that comes through Jesus name and the blood that He shed!
So the Witch Doctors were testing my brother and his team to see if they were Nominal or Born Again believers.
My brother and his team saw many Nominal Christians and a few Muslims set free and become Born Again Believers when they started preaching the message of the power and authority that Jesus has over the enemy!
Where am I going with this? Well this is the revelation that God gave me (And can I say that while there may be a few that totally disagree with me. I promise that I am doing this out of love)…there are three different people in the world:
1. Unbelievers
2. Nominal Christians
3. Born Again Believers
Yes I believe it….there are people who know the Word of God, know the right words to say, and read there Bible and pray often but have no power or freedom. And can I be so bold as to take it a step further…these people are not true followers of Jesus Christ.
I know I may be stepping on some toes but seriously think about it: We have people come up and pray a prayer that basically says, “I’m sorry for what I did. I don’t want to go to hell. So I believe in you Jesus. Take away my sins and forgive me. Amen” And then we say ok now you are saved and going to heaven! YAY!!!!!!! Ummmm….BOOOOOOO! No!!!!! WRONG!!!!!!!
Are you mad at me now? (Remember I did say that I promise I’m doing this out of love hehe) Well don’t take my word for it let’s look at the Word! James 2:14-26 shatters this “pray the sinners prayer and you are good to go” theory. James 2:19 says, “You say you have faith, for you believe that there is one God. Good for you! Even the demons believe this and they tremble in terror.” It is not enough to believe that there is a God that can save you. Even Satan himself believes that for a fact.
A Born Again Believer is one who has a revelation! Not an emotional moment, not a super spiritual “pray a prayer after me” moment, no it’s a revelation of the fact that we need Jesus because in and of ourselves we are helpless and broken beyond repair. Then after this revelation we confess that we are in desperate need for a savior. After that true revelation the Word comes alive to us and we begin to realize that it applies to us in every day life. All the power and authority that is in the Word is given to us through Jesus Christ! When we are tempted or tormented we resist the devil and he has to flee (James 4:7)! When we are in need we ask in faith and God provides (Matthew 7:7-11)! When we are in need of an answer we ask God for wisdom and He gives it to us without finding fault (James 1:5)! When we are Born Again instead of hiding in darkness and covering our sin we become a light that reveals darkness in love and exposes the plans of the enemy (Ephesians 5:13-14)! No Witch Doctor, no addiction, no sickness, no sin, no enemy has any power over us! We walk in the power and authority that comes only through one man: JESUS CHRIST!!!!
Before Jesus left this earth He spoke these words in Mark 16:17-18, “These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.” And Jesus said that we would do even more than what He did!
Come on now! There is so much more! The Word is so alive and so active and so powerful!
If you read this and feel you are living the Nominal way of life…well now you know there is more!!!!! That desire for more and that burning inside is an indication that something incredible is about to happen and the revelation that will change your life is here! Have a moment with the Lord! It may not be emotional (I’m not saying that emotions are bad just don’t base your experience on whether or not you get emotional or not) and you may not feel an instant change but just speak your heart to God. Let fear of the unknown go, let doubt be removed, and let it be replaced with a courage and unshakable, active faith! In the name of Jesus!
I am praying Ephesians 1:19-23 over each one of you that reads this blog! “I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe him. This is the same mighty power that raised Christ from the dead and seated him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms. Now he is far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come. God has put all things under the authority of Christ and has made him head over all things for the benefit of the church. And the church is his body; it is made full and complete by Christ, who fills all things everywhere with himself.”
