Hi! My name Is Marie. =)
It’s funny how we all think we know ourselves so well, but when it comes down to writing a bio about ourselves we get stumped. So I guess I will share a little bit about me and why I chose this crazy adventure that is the World Race!
Well, as I said my name is Marie. Although my life is in no way easy, I am very blessed. I have great parents, four wonderful younger siblings, a crazy but wonderful extended family, a welcoming and loving church, a few really loyal and awesome friends, and a God who loves be although I am far from deserving. I am a juxtaposition of adventure and apprehension. I will decide to plan a trip to London (and actually go) with little to no thought, but I will spend hours thinking of whether or not I should by a pair of shoes.
So why did I chose to go on this little thing known as the World Race? Well quite simply I felt called. God had put a serving spirit into me. I desire to show God’s love to the unloved, and give words of hope to the brokenhearted. Whats more is that I was called to roam, called to explore, called to get past my own comfort zone and live a life entirely different than my own. I guess I could be considered a bit nomadic. I have a wonderful home, but I get antsy if I don’t travel or find a new adventure somewhere. Add that all together and you get a World Racer!
Here are a few random facts about me, in case you want more to read =)
1. I went on a missions trip to Russia and every since then I have been so in love with Russia, anything Russian, and eastern Europe. One of my goals in life is to conquer the Russian language.
2. I am a dancer. Although I had to quit a while ago due to injuries, I will always be a dancer.
3. I was home schooled all the way up until college. And yes I had friends.
4. I want to go to basically every country and learn many languages, especially Russian and Hebrew.
5. I think my name sounds like Murray. Random, but true.
Thanks for checking out my blog! I hope you will stay connect as I experience this new journey from the packing, to the traveling, to the return. I have faith that God’s hand will be evident throughout!
Marie
