Hey guys! My letters have officially been mailed out as of this morning!

Prayers would be appreciated as they make their way to individual mailboxes. I am also going to post my letter below in case you wanted a letter but I did not receive your email or address. Please feel free to email me if you would like one ([email protected])!

These letters are just the beginning of my fundraising journey. I have to raise around $16,900 to be fully funded as well as money for the supplies that I will need to go on the trip. Right now that number is really overwhelming. It is my prayer that I will be fully funded before I leave to go on my trip so that once I leave I can fully devote myself to the ministry! It is also my prayer that many of you will partner with me, not just financially, but in prayer. If you would like to do either but have questions, feel free to email me and SUBSCRIBE to my blog for updates!

Without further ado – my letter.

Dear Friends and Family,                                                              November 2015

I hope you are doing well. I am excited to update you on some things that have been going on in my life.

I met someone my freshman year of college, right around the time he was accepted to go on the World Race, a ministry of Adventures in Missions. Since then I have felt God calling me to be a part of the trip. I read all the blogs, watched all the videos, and scoured the web to gather all of the information that I could on the World Race. I sadly learned that you must be 21 to go.

However, throughout my college experience the trip has remained on my heart. I have learned patience as I have been working to graduate college. But in May of 2016 I will be graduating, and I am so excited to announce that I have now been accepted to go on the World Race!

The World Race is an 11 month mission trip to 11 different countries to serve “the least of these.” I have been assigned to go on a trip that leaves in August of 2016 and will (tentatively) serve in Serbia, Albania, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malaysia, Namibia, Botswana, and Zambia. In each country I will be doing something different such as working with orphans, teaching English, planting churches, feeding victims of natural disasters, and ministering to those trapped in prostitution due to human trafficking, all the while sharing the Gospel.

I am so excited (and a little nervous) to be a part of this trip, and I would like to invite you to be a partner. I need prayer and encouragement while preparing to embark on this great adventure. It is a little overwhelming to think about all that I have to do for the World Race while concentrating on fulfilling my graduation requirements this final semester.

I also need financial support. I must raise $16,900, which will cover all of my expenses on the field including travel, food, and lodging. This number seems daunting, but I feel confident that God has called me to go and that he will provide all that I need to accomplish His good purposes.

I have enclosed a response card with my information and a pre-addressed envelope, inviting you to share in this ministry. There is also a second page with more specific instructions on how to give and details about the different giving options. Please visit my blog page as well, at mariclairelake.theworldrace.org, to see updates as I prepare for my trip and post while I am out on the field. Feel free to also email me with any questions you have at [email protected] or through the contact link in the upper left hand side of my blog. Thank you so much for your prayers. I hope that through this experience I may be a blessing to you, as well as to the people I will have the honor of serving around the world.

Blessings,

MariClaire Lake
