... I don't have to eat it anymore! I hate cilantro and it's overloaded in every Central American dish. Yuck!
Anyways. I am on my way to Albania. I am ready for change. This past month in Guatemala I held the hands of the broken hearted, made wheelchairs for the crippled, laughed with the poor in spirit, fed the hungry, hugged the empty, and planted seeds of hope. The Lord has given me this job, and I hope to do it faithfully. I loved the lost, just like He would do. Seeing the widows that are missing all their teeth and seem like they are only 2 ft tall, just warms your heart when you see them. We all said, "she is the cutest woman ever!" And they all look the same but have different personalities. They do say "mucho gracias" in the same pitch, it's like they are singing to you. In Xenecoj, they speak Kachiqel, which to me, is pronounced as "catch-a-cow". Very interesting Mayan language! I love the Mayan people. I got to experience a different culture like I have never before!
It was a very trying month. I had to walk through a different process of forgiveness, and that is hard. When you are faced with people and ministries you don't agree with, it's hard to not let your flesh get the best of you. I realized my body physically can't go very far without Jesus. I NEED Him. Like Psalm 63 explains, my soul longs for Him. My body shuts down, my emotions are even more crazy, my thoughts aren't His thoughts, I'm weak. I am truly nothing without The Lord. Without Him, I can't see the beauty in the darkness. My lack of trust in Jesus stops me from seeing Him in the physical. I pray for His eyes and for His heart in all situations. He's the better outcome, not my flesh.
This month I feel like my team and I got closer. I had a deep tummy laugh pretty much every day. I mean, that's not very hard for me to do, but still. It refreshes my soul. Right now I could go for a deep tummy laugh because this plane has horrible turbulence! Also, head banging to my favorite crazy music brings freedom to my heart. Why not, right? You gotta do you!
In Albania my squad will most likely be together tenting somewhere. We are going to prepare summer camps. I'm excited for these next 3 months in Europe. I would never have thought I would get to go there. Thank you for sending me to the nations!
There are plenty of pictures on my Facebook! I don't have a computer so it's hard to post pictures. Sorry! I will keep trying.
