image.jpegAs we did a special outreach Friday afternoon with the Agape Ministry I had a difficult time stepping out and giving Bible verses to the people visiting and praying at the Boudha Stupa. It wasn’t that I didn’t see the verses as a way to connect with them, or that I was afraid to be questioned.
It was difficult because I saw a body of people trapped in a religion that provided no hope and no restoration, filled with symbols and idolizations.
There were thousands of prayer flags all around the Stupa, and small cylinders inscribed with prayers so each time they are turned a prayer is offered in hopes a blessing would come their way.
But who actually hears those prayers? Who answers those prayers?
As we walked around the Perimeter of the Stupa seven times I was reminded of when Abraham pleaded with God to save the city of Sodom. Abraham was bold enough to ask God to save the city for just ten souls. God answered “For the sake of ten I will not destroy it.”
My eyes have seen more than ever the need for His Kingdom to step up and speak about the God who is LIVING, LOVING, and GRACIOUS.

There is a culture of people who are satisfied worshipping cheap rituals and aesthetically pleasing idols and temples. But what would happen if The Kingdom was so passionately fueled on the truths of Christ that every step taken and every word spoken brought life to who God is today?

As the team left the temple area we talked about our thoughts throughout the walk. My teammate Marge, brought up The passage in Luke where Jesus speaks to the Pharisees and says. “Even if the disciples did not worship me the rocks would cry out my name.”

The importance of Jesus’s life and death so magnificent, that if no one at all chose to receive it, creation itself would burst forth.

That resinates in my soul and brings such life to me. When I am immersed in His creation with His beauty and life around me is when I feel the closest to Him.

I pray that Nepal is awakened by real and authentic relationship with a God who is alive, a God who desires a relationship with His creation, a God who hears His children’s prayers, a God who knows the number of hairs on His child’s head, a God who sacrificed His Son to bring restoration and life for His Eternal Kingdom.
