You are the light of the world–Like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hiddent. No one lights a lamp and then puts in under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

I want to be an example of your love to the people around me. I don’t pretend that there is anything special about me, but your influence in my life is what makes me attractive to others. Help me to reflect your loving character in such a way that others will be drawn to me, and through me to you. Show me how to do that, whether it’s by being a friend to someone who isn’t a friend, serving the needy, making peace with difficult people, or treating others with fairness and respect. Through your power, make me a light that brightens my surroundings with your transforming ways. I know I will make mistakes, but I desire my life to be lived in such a way that those around me will see that you are in me!
In just seven days, God completely wrecked my world! God jumped out of a box that I unknowingly place around him.
You see, God speaks to me through the quietness of my thoughts, the simplest forms of nature, or the urgency of my heart desiring answers, all are ways I knew The Race was where God is calling me. But as I grow and stretch myself to be in a deeper relationship with Christ, I also learn that God’s communication with us is limitless! He spoke to Moses through a burning bush, he spoke to Joseph in a dream… Although, I am not ready to hear God’s voice audibly or to have an angel show up beside my bed and start a conversation with me. (If that does happen you will read about it!)
The communication barriers that I have placed around my heart are beginning to fall down. I am ready to begin communicating with God in new ways. Just like talking to my best friend everyday, I desire those daily conversations with Him, so that I won’t create a limits! He is beginning to take these present insecurities and transforming them into powerful opportunities to work in my heart. This year is going to be about undefining the limits that I have placed on God and letting Him define who he is through me!

I am incredibly excited about this journey and am honored to be on Team [Undefined] with six other incredibly God talented individuals who have already become family in only seven short days! I need to raise $2,290 by June 17th, in order to leave with my team July 3rd!
