Dear family and friends in Christ,
God has put missions on my heart ever since my home church; Woodcrest in Eagan, MN, has provided me the opportunity to go. I have been blessed with an encouraging family and friends who’ve supported me in prayer and with finances throughout my trips in middle school and senior high.
God has provided opportunities for me to serve His Kingdom around the United States for the previous three summers by being a leader. Each summer, God has placed me farther and farther from home. First, it began with a Bible camp in Story City, Iowa camping and canoeing with middle school students. Next, I committed my summer to YouthWorks Inc. in New Jersey & West Virginia as a work project coordinator with multi-generation groups. Most recently, I led programing in Colorado with high-school students with YouthWorks. Now I firmly believe, He is now calling me to go even further away for a longer amount of time.
After my return from Colorado in August, I began to pray ‘what’s next Lord’ as I transitioned back to my full time job with ACR Homes Inc. And He quickly and clearly put The World Race in front of me. I have various sisters in Christ that have trusted Him through this journey with Adventures in Missions (ADV) who introduced this opportunity to me. It is an 11 month mission trip to 11 countries around the world. One of the unique things about The World Race is that it’s not only a mission trip but also an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Throughout this journey, my squad and I will serve in partnership along side churches and ministries in local communities to preach the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, minister to women and children trapped in prostitution as a result of human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.
I will face many challenges all throughout the World Race, but as I prepare for my departure, one of my greatest challenges is my financial support. Like most other missions organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. In order to leave fully funded in August of 2016, I need to raise $16,961. This money will cover all of my field expenses for the 11 months of the trip.
