• Waiting on corners for the next bus into town, the wait being anywhere from 2min-1hour
  • Walking past a shop window and seeing what I look like for the first time that day/week -sometimes it’s kinda scary how I look.
  • Sitting at Starbucks to get Wi-Fi for the first time in a long time
  • Naming random dogs, just because they live along the road you walk on every day
  • Laughing at random stuff that under normal circumstances wouldn’t be funny but combined with lack of sleep, long overnight bus rides and the fact that I’m here, is hysterical
  • Riding in a bus (A or C bus in Chile, 131, or an occasional 133 if you were feeling adventurously sure this was the right bus, in Argentina) past vineyards, street markets, horse carts…
  • Meeting people impact on my life in a way I never knew could happen in such a short period of time
  • Realizing that I have a new “normal”
  • Wondering what is “normal”
  • Hours on a bus to get to the next country, sitting at borders
  • Living off $4 a day (It is possible when you do it as a team)
  • Sticking out in bus stations, airports, anywhere I go basically
  • Going to a new country every month
  • Living at 13650′ elevation for one of those months (aka this one)
  • Checking the bathroom for toilet paper before I commit to using it
  • And a good day being finding a toilet with a seat that flushes and toilet paper

These are just a few things that “just are” and I don’t think a whole lot about them anymore because it’s the way it is. It’s my life!
