So, as you may or may not know, I have had to postpone my trip. There are several different reasons for this, but the most important one is because it is what God was asking me to do. Between complications with school and graduation, my family’s financial situation, and where I was at with my support raising, I really felt that this was the wisest decision. While I was very sad to have to leave my other route and postpone to a later one, I have a great peace about this decision because I know that it was what God wanted me to do. I just wanted to walk you all through the in’s and out’s of changing routes and what that means for both my trip and you as my supporters.
What does change as a result:
- My launch date, training camp date and dead lines change. I will now be launching in January 2016, which means that my training camp date will be sometime in November or October 2015. This also means that my first financial deadline gets bumped to the end of September 2015.
- My squad changes. This was probably the hardest part of changing routes. Because I had already started building some really close community with the awesome men and women of God on my July route it was really hard for me accept the idea that I would have to say goodbye and not journey with them. But I am really excited to meet my new squad and see what relationships God has in store for me there.
- My countries change. This was a close second to accepting my squad change. I had grown such a heart for the people I was going to be working with in my countries, but again, God is sovereign and He knows what He is doing. I am getting more excited everyday about my new countries and I was reminded that it’s not where I go that matters, it’s what I do and how I live and love once I get there. My new countries are Mozambique, Malawi, Zambia, Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Columbia, Ecuador, Peru, Chile, Argentina.
What does not change as a result:
- I do not lose any support that I have raised. All of the support in my account just transfers with me.
- The amount of time I am gone does not change. I will still be going to 11 countries and spending one month in each for a total of 11 months.
- My need for your continued prayers and support does not change. While the total cost of my trip may change slightly, I will still need to raise over $16,000 for this trip, and as always your prayers are so meaningful and absolutely needed.
While making this decision was not easy, it was definitely the right one to make. God is really taking this time to prepare my heart for what He has in store for me, and I can’t wait to see what that is.
