It’s the final countdown! Okay not really, I mean the time is actually here, no more counting down. I do hope that you all sang that that in your head when you read it though! But yes! The time is finally here! I’m leaving for launch in the morning! I honestly didn’t feel like this day would ever come, and I don’t know that I can put down in words how I’m feeling. I can tell you though, that it’s all excitement! I can honestly say that I’m not scared or nervous, just excited!
If you had asked me two years ago where you thought I would be today, this definitely would not have been my answer. I couldn’t be happier with where I’m finally at though. I’m happy! I know my purpose, and I’m ready to do some good!
There will be a lot of unknowns this year, but I know that each of them will help to mold and shape me into the person that God wants me to be. Now I’m not saying that it’s going to be all rainbows and butterflies. There will be hard times. Some REALLY hard times, but I trust God completely, and I will make these promises now:
I promise to let God in during those times and listen for His voice. I promise to learn from them.
I promise to cherish every moment. Every child I get to hold, every laugh I get to hear, and even every mile that I have to walk for water
I promise to smile, and to see God in everything. 🙂
I promise to glorify God in all that I do.
I promise to love. To love my team/squadmates, my ministry hosts, every person that I come in contact with, and even those that I don’t.
I promise to play the “Thankful Game” when things get really tough….(Tarp night, anyone?)
I promise to do my best, even when I just want to give up.
I promise to be grateful for all that I have.
I promise to never stop learning. Learning from the people that I get to meet, and from God.
Above all though, I promise to do what God has made and called me to do. To love the world in His name.
Feed the hungry, heal the sick, clothe the naked. These aren’t just words. This is real life. A life that God has called us into, and I am so blessed that He did!
My past doesn’t matter, all that matters is my future. All that matters is HIS love, and HIS redemption for me. I have been made new and washed clean! I have been made pure and holy. I have been made for His purpose and I’m ready to fulfill that!
Along with my everyday ministry, I am pleased to announce that I have also been asked to be the Unsung Heroes Coordinator! What is that you ask? Well, I’ll tell you! 🙂 Unsung Heroes month is a month of ministry that each team does separately. During this month, we are not given a ministry host or contact like we are for the other months. We are asked to go out and find ministries that need help. We are looking for organizations that are doing amazing work for the Kingdom, but just don’t have enough resources. It is our job to ask God where He wants us to go, and to follow. We then submit these contacts to The World Race so that hopefully, they can send out future World Racers to help them! My job will be to help organize all of this. When it is another team’s turn, I will travel with them for the first couple of days and help train them on what to do. I am so grateful for this opportunity and can’t wait to see what I learn from this!
I will never be able to thank each and every one of you enough for the continued love and support that you have shown me. I never thought that I could be so blessed! Whether you have donated financially or have kept me in your prayers, you will never know how much you mean to me!
My bags are packed, my heart is full, and I’m ready for an adventure!
Let’s do this!
