Wooooooo!!!!!! We made it to Costa Rica!
It’s currently Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 4:20 pm and I’m sitting in a little shop with my team to get some wifi! We flew into Costa Rica yesterday morning, then the teams split up and mine headed to the bus station and hopped on a 4.5 hour bus ride to our ministry location. Our ministry host picked us up and brought us the rest of the way (through what seems like the middle of nowhere) to their house where we will be staying for the next month.
The house has showers and toilets and beds!! So I’m so thankful for that! We got in last night, ate some dinner that they had prepared for us, and then headed to bed. Many of us hadn’t really gone to bed the night before because we left our hotel at 2:30 am, so we were pooped.
This morning was our off day, so we were able to sleep in 🙂 We had a pretty relaxed day, hanging around the house. We were also able to go look at the sanctuary that we will be helping to finish build! We took the “Adventure Way” to get there – so we walked through the jungle, swung on a rope swing, walked over a bridge, and carried a machete in case we saw any of the many poisonous snakes and spiders.
Anyways, I just wanted to check in with you all and let you know that we made it safe and sound and give you a sense of what we will be doing/where we will be living! I’m so excited for our ministry this month! Thank you so much for all of your continued prayers and support! We live about a 30 min drive from wifi, so I am not sure how often I will be able to post, but please know that your prayers are truly appreciated!
