Being in Moldova has been such an amazing experience. The people here are simply amazing, the food is delicious, and you can also guarantee that each day spent in Moldova will contain many new and exciting experiences.

On this particular morning (Thursday 14th of October), we were off to work in the corn fields. The task at hand was simple (or so we thought) to cut down each stock of corn. Mama Vita passed out the tools and gave us a small demonstration of what was to be done. I thought to myself this looks easy enough, but boy o boy was I wrong. As I walked into the corn field I couldn’t help but notice that amidst all the stocks corn were hundreds and hundreds of the most demonic thorn bushes I’d had ever seen. My first instinct was to just ignore them but that was just impossible because everywhere I turned and all around me were these thorn bushes. And let me tell you that these thorns weren’t your ordinary thorns these were small balls which had many sharp prickly and dry ends. So I then decided I would use my scythe to cut them down-let me just say worst idea ever! As I chopped away at the thorn bush it began to rain and not water but balls of thorns. Slowly I started to lose it. I basically took my and started chopping down everything around me, I chopped faster and faster until I couldn’t chop anymore. Out of breath I decided to stop.

I was tired and sweating and covered in thorns. The melt down was coming, and all I could do was pray. As I was praying I could hear God saying My Son, He wore a crown of thorns on His head for You, and not only that but He gave his life for You. Jesus the Christ, Jesus the King of Kings, He wore a crown of thorns on His head for Me. The Son of God took a horrific beating for me and His hands and His feet were nailed to a cross and on the cross He died for me. I began to cry because Jesus-the King of Kings-loves me so much that he would bare all of that for me. I’m so in awe of God’s love for me. And the truth is He love you that much. John 3:16 says God so loved THE WORLD.

Why we need Him…

Rom 3:23 For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Rom 6:23a For the wages of sin is death

Rom 6:23b But the FREE gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord

-It’s a FREE gift people- THAT MEANS YOU CAN’T EARN IT- but you do have to receive. You have to believe (John 3:16 Whoever believes)

Rom 10:9 If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;, you will be saved;

TRUTH: YOU ARE LOVED BY THE GOD WHO CREATED THE UNIVERSE HE WANTS TO HAVE A PERSONAL RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU. HE WORE THAT CROWN OF THORN ON HIS HEAD FOR YOU AND HE DIED FOR YOU.
