I need to raise close to 19,000 but I only have to raise 5,000 by July 10th and 7,500 by my launch date in September. My fundraising will continue as I start my mission trip. That is what is so awesome about my blogs and vlogs. I will continue to write and talk about what and how God is changing and using me through this trip which will help continue my fundraising so I can get to my 19,000. World Race has the best setup because they focus on wanting every single person to be able to go on these crazy, life-changing trip instead of worrying about the money. God will provide and thank you to the people who have already donated.

After the service ended I had the honor to talk to a family in our church. We talk for a little bit and in that time they mentioned how they had just read Acts chapter 8 in their homegroup and how it reminded them because of the fact that I am going to Ethiopia. When I got home I looked up the chapter and read it. The story is fascinating because God calls a man to trust him and giving him barely any information, the man, Philip follows the commands. In the process he meets an Ethiopian and despite class, race and religion Phillip walks up to the Ethiopians chariot and shares the gospel with him. After the Ethiopian is baptised by Philip. This is a beautiful example of what might happen if we listen to what God tells us to do. I pray to be the phillip in God’s plan for me and to have the strength and courage to listen without a doubt and with complete trust in God.
A really cool aspect of the World Race Gap Year is time. In that time I will have many moments with God, alone from everyone. What I’ve heard is having full days dedicated to being alone with God and listening to what he wants from me. I will be able to listen just like Philip did. The other side of having time is building relationships with the people in the community and investing in them. This will give me the opportunity to minister to many people and I cannot wait!
Thank you to that family for sharing those thoughts which led me to Phillip and the Ethiopian.
Thank you to everyone else who stopped me in the hall or gave me a hug, I really felt the support and it really felt like a family.

So he started out, and on his way he met an Ethiopian eunuch, an important official in charge of all the treasury of the Kandake. This man had gone to Jerusalem to worship, and on his way home was sitting in his chariot reading the Book of Isaiah the prophet.The Spirit told Philip, “Go to that chariot and stay near it.” Then Philip ran up to the chariot and heard the man reading Isaiah the prophet. “Do you understand what you are reading?” Philip asked.”How can I,” he said, “unless someone explains it to me?” So he invited Philip to come up and sit with him…. The eunuch asked Philip, “Tell me, please, who is the prophet talking about, himself or someone else?”Then Philip began with that very passage of Scripture and told him the good news about Jesus.As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, “Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?”And Philip said, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he answered and said, “I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him” (Acts 8: 26-38).
