A few thoughts from month 1:
-I could really go for a pizza.
-There is genuinely nothing that could have prepared me for my first month out on the field
-I 10/10 encourage bringing a pillow pet on the race, Penelope has been a delight for literally everyone
-Our hosts were the bomb, and loved us so well. Even though this was tough and overwhelming in just about every aspect ..getting to do life with the Duoa’s and love on their children and their ministry was completely worth it.
-I’m SUPER thankful for my team, I believe we were perfectly placed together solely because of our strenuous circumstances month one. The right kind of people for a tough situations always makes the outcome sweet, whatever that outcome looks like.
-The Lord has spoken to me and through me in the strangest ways this month, that are actually pretty fitting for our relationship if I’m being honest (colors, flowers, letters, etc)
-I have a new found love/respect for space (@priska @God) just because it’s humbling and awe-inspiring
-I really do hate mangos
-I can do really hard things and I’m confident in the fact that I do love winter more than summer
-I laugh when I’m really stressed out (@waking up to a rat in the room and just laughing)
-you really can make a difference in a month
-you can making lasting relationships in a month
-you can still be grateful even when there isn’t a silver lining
-once you feed yourself you get hungry for more
-expired coffee tastes really spicy
-you can live off of rice longer than you think; but you’re never gonna be hungry enough to eat a fish eye
-this month could’ve been easier with chicken nuggets
-mosquitos don’t go higher than 15ft and they can’t kill you in America
-Mosquito nets make you feel like a princess
-if you say you’re from Texas you’re automatically cooler & no one knows where Arkansas is… including my teammates
-you can in fact live off of junk food
-Fanta is the nectar of the Gods
-there is nothing holding hands and a top cake can’t fix
There’s more. Like lots more but I’m processing. I can’t wait to share more blogs of how the Lord has been moving and shaping me in this new adventure. Self discovery has been a T H I N G, & as a verbal processor (or typing processor whatever) I can’t wait to share it all with you once I get my laptop charged and a decent amount of WiFi
Xx M
