I was going to write this blog a while ago but kind of forgot, and lately it has been on my heart to share with you about my team I met at Training camp…
After finding out who my team was that is when it hit me. Feeling overwhelmed, excited, nervous, happy all bundled into one big emotion that made me sit there in silence. It hit me that in just a few months I would be traveling with those five amazing women. My team sat with me as we talked about how this is actually really happening and we are all about to travel the world together and do works for The Lord. That day I really saw the love my team had in their hearts, and what I am about to share with you is why I know being a missionary is exactly my hearts desire.
Our group (Team Homeward Bound) decided to go to the park on our free day at Training Camp to get some fresh air and reflect on the week. One of the girls on the team saw an older man sitting by himself watching two kids he brought to the park playing. So she got up and went over to him and started talking to him. Our whole group caught on to what was going on and we all sat and talked to him for a minute and as time passed someone asked if he wanted to receive prayer for anything in his life. He began to tell us that his wife was in the hospital for pneumonia. So we all began to pray for him and his wife… After the prayer ended he began to tell us which hospital she was in, what room she was staying in and her name… We all looked at each other and didn’t even have to say one word we all knew what we were about to do next. We all left and said alright lets head to the hospital! Strangely enough we got this packet at training camp that had random directions in the back and the hospital was one of them.
As we drove to the hospital we found it literally a minute later sat in the car prayed and began to walk into the hospital. No problems what so ever this was just too easy! We found the woman’s room and knocked and asked if we could pray for her explaining the incident that lead us to go find her. She looked so thankful and was so receptive. We all said a prayer for her and she looked so peaceful and so happy that we (Team Homeward Bound) came to pray for her in the hospital on our break from Training Camp! When we finished the prayer she asked if she could hug us, of course she could! We left the room and it was just a powerful moment to what THIS IS WHAT MY TEAM WOULD BE DOING NEXT YEAR! It starts now! I walked out of the building reflecting on the entire situation. I had peace about this team I just knew it was God who put me in this team. We are all so different but we work so well together for The Lord.
