I dedicated my life to the Lord and got saved and baptized at the age of 18. Yet still, I continued to dabble in sin. I tried to justify my sins time and time again and over the years, I became complacent. I truly enjoyed my sins yet I was living a double life. I would indulge in sins and then attempt to serve the Lord at the same time. I lived a life of hypocriosy.

Too often in my life I have chosen sin over God. Instead of running from sin, I ran to sin. I enjoyed worldy things and chose them over my heavenly Father. And now, I am completely disgusted with my sins. I hate them. I literally I hate my sin. I am learning that the more I grow in my faith, the more sensitive I am to my sins.

So I am at a place of desperation in my walk with Christ. A place of complete dependence on the Lord for healing of my sins and I can no longer afford to choose sin over God. The battle for my affection, attention, and mind are at war.

Thankfully we do not have to sit in sin, but we have the key to freedom: the Holy Spirit. We must be a generation that is completely dependent on the Spirit. A people that walk, live, and are led daily by the Spirit. That is the only way we will be able to conquer our flesh. We must put all of our trust in faith in Jesus Christ and let Him rule our lives completely. I'm either walking in the Spirit, or walking in the flesh.

Instead of running to sin, we must run to Jesus. And when I say run, I mean literally run. With every fiber of our being and with every ounce of energy we have, we must choose to fight our flesh. I no longer want to be a mediocre Christian but a woman sold out to the Father.

I choose to run. I choose to run as fast and as far as I possibly can from sin. For me that means filtering movies, music, books, and television. It means filtering the time I spend on the internet. It means running from the things of this world and desiring God above all else. It means dying to myself, picking up my cross, and following after Jesus. I want to run on the path of righteousness.

So what do you choose? Will you run to Jesus? Because I assure you if you choose Him, you will have abundant life and nothing is better than being in God's perfect will.
