After a grand total of 19 hours on a bus, we finally arrived in San Pedro, Guatemala! And let me tell you… it was definitely worth the trip.

When we arrived, we met our ministry host Pastor Antonio and his wife Cata who are amazing people of God. Pastor Antonio shared his testimony with us and I was blown away by his faith. He started leading bible studies at the age of 9 years old. He started his church here in San Pedro with literally no money. The Lord told him to build a church here and yet he had no idea how that was going to happen. For years he prayed and had faith that no matter what, God would provide the resources for him to start that church. And the Lord provided! His church is wonderul.

It was amazing to visit his church on Sunday as I knew that it was a place built on complete faith. I loved experiencing their church service. They invited us to come up to sing which was really intimidating, to say the least, because there was about 120 people there and I did not have my guitar to lead worship. So my team and I had to sing acapella and it actually turned out great! The congregation had absolutely no idea what we were singing lol but I believe that the presence of God was in that church and that they were able to worship Him despite the language barrier.

We have the opportunity to lead worship on the radio here in San Pedro twice a week and that has been so much fun! I never thought I would be leading worship for a Guatemalan radio station haha but never underestimate God! My hope is that maybe, just maybe someone out there is listening and that God uses the songs we are singing to bring people closer to Him.

Our ministry for this month is basically whatever God leads us to do. Every day we go into town and we lead worship, play with kids, love on people, and hang out with the locals. It has been amazing to just do life with the people here. Day by day we have no plan, no schedule, and no agenda which provides us with the freedom to minister however God wants us to. We have the opportunity to reach people through music and fellowship and I can’t wait to see what God does with that.

This place is truly wonderful and God has been teaching me so much. He has been revealing Himself to me in ways like never before. I have been praying for the gift of tongues since before I was saved back in 2008. I have continually prayed but never audibly spoken in tongues. Over the past few months, I have been really praying and seeking God in this area. I have been praying that I would experience God in His fullness and see Him move in ways like never before.

And last night I audibly spoke in tongues for the first time! We were praying over a family at church and as I laid hands on them to pray, I became overwhelmed with the Holy Spirit. It was unlike anything I have ever experienced before. I praise God for showing me new realms of Him.

I am sure as some of you read this you are questioning about the gift of tongues and what speaking in tongues even means. If you have questions or are confused in any way, I encourage you to read Acts2"4 and I Corinthians 14:14, 15.

I’m excited to see how God moves in San Pedro!
