I have made it to Panama! WOW! Month #3 already. I feel like there is so much of the race left, but that so much of the race has already passed. Man, they weren’t kidding when they said the days are long, but the months are short. My team and I arrived in Las Lajas, Panama last Saturday to the biggest blessing I could have imagined… Our home for this month is a beach house!! What?! I know. I am literally a 3 minute walk from the most beautiful and secluded beach. God is so good. This month my team and I are working with an amazing couple, Danny and Heather. We accompany them to Oma, which is a small tribal community up in the mountains of Panama, a few times a week to teach English, do bible studies, and just love on the kids of the tribe. We are also helping spruce up a small church in San Felix that we attend on Sunday’s. By painting the outside walls and sanding/painting benches for inside the church. This church also has a girls home, who are really young women, that we teach English and programming to. Yea I’m a bit of a fish out of water with the programming haha, but we’re all just learning together! My team and I are also doing a plethora of other things this month those just just a few of the highlights!
I would like to ask you all to keep me in your prayers as I continue on this journey of the race. If you have been keeping up with my blogs you know that I got sick in Guatemala with a sinus infection and in Nicaragua with a bacterial infection in my intestines. Well I’m 3 for 3 and somehow have managed to still be sick in Panama. Lots of tummy troubles if you know what I mean. I know that I am here for a reason and I know God uses everything for His glory, but its been very hard staying present and positive throughout Central America. I have been sick in some fashion almost the entire time I have been on the field. I am believing for healing and doing my best to push on, but your prayers would be much appreciated.
I would also like to ask you to keep a few of my teammates in your prayers as well. Anna and Ashley. With January rapidly approaching so is our final fundraising deadline. Anna and Ashley have been working their butts off to raise money, but they still need some funds to continue on the race. These two women have poured so much truth and love into my life. I know for a fact they have already had an lasting impact on my life and it would be such a bummer for them to have to go home early because of money. Go check out their blogs and read about what the Lord has been doing in their journey and hey, maybe donate while you’re over there if you feel led to.
Thank you all so much for your continued support and reading my blogs! It’s hard being away from home especially around the holidays, but every time I see a comment on one of my blogs I get so excited! I love hearing from all of you. It’s like a little piece of home all the way here in Panama!
Stay Blessed,
Marah
