Today, I wrote a blog post about a topic having nothing to do with fundraising. My last few posts have been about fundraising, and the word is starting to drive me a little batty. But when I opened my blog to see that I’m almost HALFWAY FUNDED, I had to write about this.

The happy tears are real, y’all, because God is faithful to provide.

This isn’t the first time I’ve experienced this, which makes it even cooler. I’ve seen proof of God’s financial provision over and over again since I started college, from refund checks to mysterious grants, and relatives with perfect timing. Even now, a semester looms ahead of me where I’m PAYING to have a full-time job, and I know that God will keep me afloat.

The Lord has used so many amazing people to go above and beyond what I thought was possible. The fundraiser bar on my blog says “I’ve raised:” and then the number. But y’all, I did none of this. I was faithful to follow, and God was faithful to provide. He raised almost $9,000 by stirring your hearts. Because you trusted Him with this money, I will be able to share this same joy, faith, and hope with His children across the globe. My prayer is that as you hear news of what God’s doing through me, we all will experience transformation – not just the people I encounter on the Race, but you and me as well.

I was trying to figure out how this made me feel…not just joyful, but elated. Not just happy, but hopeful. I wanted to find a bigger word than gratitude to express how thankful and humbled I am by seeing this outpouring of support…the only thing I can think of is love.

Halfway is not a place I was expecting to reach yet. I thought it would take me until March, at least. But I will not grow complacent. I hope you will join me in fervent prayers, in continued faithfulness to God’s provision and calling, and trusting Him with our money, which is all a gift from Him anyway.

My new goal is to reach halfway before the end of January – $315 more and I’m there!! What a way to ring in the new year.

So here’s to reaching (almost) halfway…

To seeing faith in action…

To watching God provide…

To your generosity…

And to our mission.

Many blessings to you and your families in 2018,

Marah
