Launch for the WORLD RACE is in just 5 WEEKS! Haven't stalked me on facebook in awhile? Forget where the heck I'm going and what I'll be doing? No worries! Everything sort of got a little bit jumbled anyway! Here is a QUICK and CURRENT run down!
WHO: Me. Obviously. And 6 other awesome people (check out their blogs under the "MEET MY TEAM" button!)
WHAT: The World Race–through Adventures In Missions, an interdenominational missions organization that focuses on discipleship, emphasizing prayer and relationships in their work amongst the poor.
- Backpacking and pitching tent around the world, living in raw community, and sharing Christ's love through things like prayer, VBS, construction, clean water/sanitation projects, and AIDS/HIV, human/sex trafficking, and disability outreach.
WHERE: 11 different countries. 4 continents. More specifically (and in THIS order):
- July = Nepal
- August = India
- September = Thailand
- October = Cambodia
- November = South Africa
- December = Swaziland
- January = Botswana
- February = Romania
- March = Moldova
- April = Guatemala
- May = Nicaragua
WHEN: Launch = July 3rd, 2014; Return = May 31, 2015
HOW (MUCH) TOTAL: $21,500 = covers travel, insurance, and basic living expenses, as well as vaccinations and large gear items (tent, backpack, sleeping bag, etc.)
HOW (MUCH) STILL NEEDED: $4,500!!
