In about 2 hours my squad begins the 2 day journey to Zambia. I was hoping to write this big epic emotional blog post right before I left, but honestly my emotions haven’t caught up to me yet. So we’ll save that one for later, probably after I read all my letters from my amazing friends which I’m saving for my longest flight!
But for now I want to give you all some final notes on how to contact me and support me while I’m gone! Yayyyy.
To contact me:
if you have an iPhone we should be able to communicate via iMessaging and FaceTime when I have wifi. Otherwise I also have Skype and TextPlus. Or Facebook me. Or email me! [email protected] I would love to have emails from y’all since I can’t really receive letters!
To support me:
Prayers, prayers, prayers! For myself and my team! As for financially, I have less than $8,500 left to raise! Woohoo! Seriously the fact that God has already brought $7800 in BLOWS MY MIND! $3,500 of the total goal needs to be raised before April 1st. There are several ways people can financially support me while I’m gone:
The first is through this blog. There are a few different “Support Me!” buttons around here. If you don’t see them, you can follow this direct link: https://www.adventures.org/give/donate.asp?giveto=worldrace&desc=Amanda%20Gummels
Or you can send checks made payable to “Adventures In Missions” with “Amanda Gummels” written in the memo line send to:
Adventures In Missions
P.O. Box 742570
Atlanta, GA 30374-2570
Both ways are tax deductible!
Oh, also! We found out our first ministry!
We’ll be working with a ministry called Zehandi Missions while we’re in Zambia. We are supposed to be working with kids doing sports education, relationship building and also evangelism. We also get to do this with 2 other teams! Prayers for the ministry would be greatly appreciated! And prayers for the 3 guys stuck with 16 of us girls. Ha poor guys!
All packed up for the 93849834759th time and ready to go!
It’s almost strange how at peace I feel about things right now. I’m sad to leave everyone, but I’m not scared and I’m not nervous…which is new for me! It feels strange that I’m about to have this huge experience where anything can happen and I’m completely at peace about it. It’s just further confirmation that this is what I’m meant to do!
Hopefully I will talk to you all soon! Love you all!
