Last time I wrote a blog (other than my blog about reaching my next deadline) I mentioned that God spoke to me when I was sitting in prayer time outside one of the bars. This is my explanation as to what God showed me and how he worked in my heart that day.

I was sitting there on a bench like many days before, and just praying for all the bars and what would be going on later that night and the people stuck in this business. I had my eyes closed and I was listening to my favorite worship song. (Hillsong United- With Everything) and when I opened my eyes I realized how much the top of the bar strip looked like a greenhouse. There were also birds flying in and out and light flowing in from the outside. I quickly imagined sitting in a greenhouse and looking around. As I looked around God showed me that the girls stuck in this work and all the things around were like the flowers you would find in a green house.

Some may be planted where they don’t get LIGHT. Some may not get enough water. Some may be thorny and full of prickers. Some may not be in full bloom, but God see’s them ALL. Those who are in the dark, those who need his truth and love like a flower needs the sun and water to live. He has made all of them unique and all of them different from the other. He spent time creating them to each hold their own beauty and for a specific purpose.

God brought us here to help his light reach the ones in the dark. He brought us here to help bring joy and make each one of these flowers see why he so intricately made them. To help them see that they are loved and important.

They were NOT to just be looked at, or to smell the fragrance that God specifically gave each one of them. He also didn’t create them for the purpose of just being snatched up by whomever came along and wanted to only simply enjoy their beauty for their own pleasure and to discard them shortly after like trash.

God didn’t bring us here to “save” these people. God wasn’t expecting us to perform miracles, BUT God is capable of those things! He had us each there to show people love, that they matter, that they are important, that they are heard, and that they are worth more.Of course it would be amazing to have seen God work a miracle through us, or changing the hearts of these men and women. I think that they have to see that they are important in more than a way of someone purchasing them and people expecting things from them. Once they SEE and truly FEEL that we treated them different they wanted to know why! Through this alone their heart is already starting to open up to them trying to understand whats different about us.

And all of a sudden a place that was once consumed by darkness has a little bit of light! Building those relationships and helping it grow makes them become like the seed rooted deep because if fell on good soil. If we are patient and trust God in His timing, than the rate of the growth is greater. If we rush it by trying to throw Jesus or religion at them it will be like the seed dropped on the path. It will be short lived bc the path is trampled on and there won’t be any connections that they made along the way to keep it from withering. Or it could turn up like the seed that fell among the thorns and when trying to grow it was chocked trying to come up because they had no one to help them through those hard times that seemed impossible.

We were helping to change lives in huge ways! We may not see the fruit but being able to plant the seed is SO IMPORTANT in God’s plan.

I had to sit back and let Him guide us. I couldn’t be apprehensive or worry because we were exactly where God wanted and needed us to be. To have hearts ready to love those who need to see what LOVE actually looks like.
