Recently people have heard what I have “signed up for” and asked why!?     I instantly want to reply with something like “Well I know in my heart that this is without a doubt what He is calling me to do, and who am I to disobey? But I also think about how I need to have a little more scripture to back it up. I also think that it helped me to look into different places in the bible and find times where they speak about “going” or something to that nature. The following are just a few of the verses that i did find and thought would be nice to share.

But he replied, “I must preach the Good News of the Kingdom of God in other towns, too, because that is why I was sent.”-Luke 4:43

“The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you”-Genesis 12:1

“He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.”-Matthew 16:15

“Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?” And I said, “Here am I. Send me!” He said, “Go and tell this people”-Isaiah 6:8

“Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit,”-Matthew 28:19

“Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!”-Psalm 96:3

“But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”-Acts 1:8

“For “everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching? And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!” –Romans 10:13-15

“For so the Lord has commanded us, saying, “I have made you a light for the Gentiles, that you may bring salvation to the ends of the earth.”-Acts 13:47

“Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples!”-1 Chronicles 16:24

“And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”-Matthew 24:14

“And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.”-Luke 24:47

I have the amazing blessing of living by two other racers who will be going on the race with me. I can’t express how awesome it is to have them because preparing for this experience is NOT something that is like anything else. Anyways, the three of us plus two other friends went camping this weekend. Now I’ve been camping a billion times..brothers in boy scouts and all that, but this was not like that. While the trip was awesome it was very intense if you are from flat and even ground, and not in shape. It challenged me in ways I was not prepared for and I never thought I would have been able to do it, but I did! Not only did I do it I did it 6 times! Sure there were times we took different paths and I had to stop more often than the rest, but I did it. The reason I am telling you this is because I have had this fear of training camp. I am not sure how intense it would be and I wasn’t feeling 100% sure about if I could do it but now that fear is totally squashed! I experienced compassion and patience as well as encouragement. I got this from people that I met that day, and these new friends through the world race. This gave me a glimpse at what it will be like on the race. There will be times that some are strong and some are weak, and there will be times you help encourage others to help them through a tough time. It was a tough, exhausting, exhilarating, WET, and amazing weekend and I am so blessed by the new friends and the growth that has been made between my team mates and myself! God is SO good! Plus I got another donation this weekend while I was gone. It has been such a huge blessing so far to see God provide through others, and I haven’t even sent out my letters yet! Thanks to everyone who has helped me already whether it is housing me so I can save money, encouraging me to pursue this crazy awesome adventure, those who are praying, those who are able to help with funding, and or even just reading what God has going on in my life! You all help so very much and I wouldn’t be where I am without all of you!
