We were asked to write about our expectations for this trip, and I wasn’t sure how to begin, so I decided to close my eyes and simply start writing. Some of these may not make sense, and they aren’t in any particular order, but they’re honest.
I expect
- To be uncomfortable
- To be shocked by the things I see
- To fall deeper in love with Jesus every day
- To learn to live like He did
- To laugh
- To smell terribly
- To truly serve
- To live with nothing, and be content
- To discover new gifts
- To rely on God
- To help those in need
- To speak without words
- To cry for many reasons
- To share the love of God
- To bond with my team
- To have fun
- To pray like I’ve never prayed before
- To see the power of prayer
- To see lives changed, mine included
- My heart to break
- Miracles
- Teamwork
- Freedom
- Challenges
- Worship
- Boldness
- Joy
I’m sure this list will change and evolve over the next little while, and I’m looking forward to that. I guess you could say I’m expecting the unexpected. I’m expecting God to do things that will completely blow my mind, and I can’t tell you how excited I am!
