After our longest travel days yet, we
have arrived safely in Bungoma, Kenya (a town about nine hours
outside of Nairobi) and I love it so far! We’ve been here less than a
week, and I’ve already been stretched in multiple ways. We’re
partnering this month with King Jesus Faith Ministries and will be
involved in a such a wide variety of activities. We were given a list
of seven possible outreaches: schools, hospital mission, churches,
home visits (door to door), youth ministry, children’s ministry, and
manual labour.

Ministering at a hospital is an
entirely new experience for me, but has been incredible so far. It
was awesome to see God work the way He did, giving words when there
were none to be had. It’s a heartbreaking ministry, but I know that
God can use it for His glory. When at the hospital, my team splits
into two groups and goes into the different wards to pray over the
patients and share words of encouragement. It’s total reliance on the
Holy Spirit.

Door-to-door evangelism is also a new
experience for me. We’ve got out two days in a row so far, and my
mind has been blown away! Our God is AWESOME! Kenya is officially
about 80% Christian, but the percentage of people who truly have a
relationship with Jesus is much less than that. The first day we went
out, my apprehension matched my excitement. I have never had to share
my faith in such an open, direct way before, so was definitely
nervous about it. At the same time, I’m at the point with God where
it’s “go big or go home.” I know God is capable of doing great
and mighty things, but if I’m not ready to expect Him to actually do
them, then why am I here? So we stepped out in faith, and are
thrilled to welcome many new Kenyans into the family of Christ!
Praise God!! The people of Bungoma are so hungry for Jesus, and many
are very receptive to hearing about Him. Through the sprouting of
their faith, mine has increased and I cannot wait to see what else
God will do in this town!

Pray for the people of Bungoma. Pray
for the new believers. Pray that their decision was 100% genuine.
Pray that they get connected into a solid church that will strengthen
their faith. Do not stop praying. The work of God has just begun!
