6am wake up to the sound of dogs viciously fighting outside. Desperately try to fall back asleep in the bed I share with my teammate

7am go on my morning run. Pass goats, a few homeless people, and kids heading off to school

7:54am finish my run at the little street store where I buy yogurt almost every morning. Make small talk in broken English with the owner who I have come to establish a relationship with. Buy a cold bottle of water for the elderly homeless couple sitting outside of a shop down the street.

8:12am walk back to the house where my entire squad is living for the month to make a breakfast of granola, yogurt, banana, and mango. Weave my way between a few of my squad mates also preparing food in our little kitchen.

8:30am eat breakfast on the roof of our home and spend some time with Jesus

9:07am hop in line for the bathroom I share with 19 other women on my squad

9:30am walk to our ministry site with my team.

9:50am arrive at the site. Meet with our host to pray and prepare for the day

10:30am class is supposed to start but only 3 students arrived. One woman jokes about Nepali time.

10:43am a little tiny earthquake creates a ruckus in our classroom

10:45am more students arrive so we begin our teaching. Today we are doing stations to teach question words (who, what, where, when, why, and how) for the at risk women.

12:02pm class ends and we say goodbye to our students until Thursday

12:05pm we begin our walk home. Sara and I sing throw back songs to entertain ourselves as Nepali people look at us like the crazy Americans that we are.

12:30pm we make a pit stop at our house to grab our electronics before going to lunch as a team (because wifi)

2:16pm head back to our house to read and introvert out

3:30pm hand wash my laundry using rain water collected in a bucket from last nights monsoon

4:38pm lay on our kitchen floor and listen to a squad mate excitedly tell me about her day at their ministry site

4:42pm rub Neosporin on another squad mates nasty sunburn

5:03pm walk down to my fruit and veggie guy to grab a pomegranate and celery for lunch tomorrow. He teaches me how to pick the perfect pomegranate. (My ministry tomorrow will be going to assist a community of blind people for the day because there is no English class on Wednesdays)

5:28pm grab a granola bar to give to the homeless man by our house

5:35pm arrive home. Learn a few chords on the ukulele from my teammate Hannah. Make a breakfast date for tomorrow with her

5:50pm consume a dinner of mac and cheese cooked for me by my teammates Sara and MC while watching the sunset over the Himalayas on top of our roof

6:12pm climb back down to the kitchen to make a big bag of green beans I bought from my veggie guy

7:03pm still on the roof talking about all the things with my teammates

9:15pm set my alarm for 6:30 to work out in the morning. Fall asleep while reading

9:40pm woken up…community living
10:15pm decide to sleep in a hammock on the roof and pray for a good nights sleep

10:16pm decide it’d be smart to go to the bathroom before camping out on the roof with a few of my squad mates

10:20pm walk back up to the roof and am greeted by my squad leader slow clapping for me for going number 2 for the first time in Nepal…again, community living (you get hella close and there are no secrets)

10:35pm thank God for the clear night sky full of stars and opportunity to enjoy the outdoors without being caught in a monsoon

10:47pm yell I love you to MC and Mac and snuggle up with my teddy bear in my hammock to officially call it a night
