Our squad had debrief this past week at the lake in Panajachel where we took time to rest, process, adventure, and “debrief” everything the Lord has done in our lives this first month on the field. Adjusting to culture shock and lives without our families has been hard so it was such a good time to rest and cast vision for ministry through the rest of our time here in Guatemala! As we prepare to go back to ministry I wanted to invite my supporters in to partner with me in prayer over our ministries and the people of Guatemala so that the spirit’s power can rest on us as we go back out, so here’s a prayer list:

*I kept names of people here anonymous*

1- Shalom – the staff here received this word from the Lord for the country of Guatemala. Sometimes its hard not to get caught up in the violence around us and just focus on the physical, but the Lord has already won the victory! I would ask for your prayers for peace, shalom, a peace that transcends understanding to blanket the whole country. Pray that gang violence, oppression, anything that is not peaceful to leave in the name of Jesus and that the prince of peace would rule and overcome.

2 – Cajagualten – this is one of the villages my team has the opportunity to minister to so I’m asking for prayer on behalf of every family and soul that lives in this village. We do house visits a lot and prayer walk through the village, so prayers for open hands on our part as we minister to obey where the spirit leads us, and then for open hearts here that we would continue to build relationships with the people here and they would be open to receiving Jesus. One of the women we’ve had the privilege of getting to know just received a diploma so she can now be a pastor!! Praise God! Blessings are abundant here, and I ask for more prayer and love to blanket this village, the people here are amazing and I pray they encounter Jesus this week. Pray that our team would continue to bring the joy of the Lord and that hope can be restored because of the power of Jesus.

3- Chirijuyu – This is the other village my team has the honor of ministering to. I ask for prayer again on behalf of all the people in this village, that they would continue to open their homes to us and that we would just be able to continue to love on them and build relationships. Also for prayers against spiritual warfare and that evil would flee in the name of Jesus because we already have the victory!

4 – Teaching – we teach around three times a week, usually in Chirijuyu so just prayers that we would not only be effective communicators and teachers, but that Jesus’ love and joy would abound in us as we teach. My biggest prayer is that through learning English our precious students can have more opportunities in the future and know that they can dream bigger and do more than what they’ve always been told they’re destined to by the world. Prayers for trust and relationships to continue to build not just when we teach but as we play with them at recess and see them throughout the week at VBS and soccer ministry so they can continue to learn about Jesus and what it looks like to follow Him.

5 – VBS – we have VBS once a week in Cajagualten so prayers that we would continue to build relationships with the kids that come every week and that we would always love them like Jesus and communicate the gospel effectively. There’s always so much joy at VBS so just pray that the Lord continues to move here and that we could maybe even start a women’s ministry along with it!

6 – Sports ministry – we have soccer ministry every Friday and Wednesday in Cajagualten so prayers that we would continue to love on the kids there and make them feel seen, known, and loved. There’s always a lesson when practice is over so prayers that the gospel would always be communicated effectively and received by the kids as they learn about Jesus every week. Prayers that they would continue to be discipled and that the Lord would speak through our ministry host Aderkee.

7- We have a friend in Chiriuyu who has had some health issues that have kept him from being able to work so prayers for healing and provision.

8- we met a woman a few weeks ago who works in a church in Chirijuyu and a lot of her family does not know the Lord and she asked for prayer that they would come to know Jesus. Her husband is also blind and hard of hearing so prayers that his sight and hearing would be restored and he would be healed in Jesus’ name!!

9- We met a man in Parramos who is currently in school to be a missionary. Prayers that the Lord would provide and give him guidance on where he wants him.

10 – We had the amazing opportunity to meet a woman in Chirijuyu last week and have lunch with her. She was so welcoming and hospitable to us and we got to make homemade tortillas with her! She’s an amazing woman and we also get to teach her son and daughter! Prayers for their family because her husband works a lot to provide for them, so for security, provision, and comfort in loneliness. Prayers that we will continue to love her well and build a relationship with her and possibly start a women’s ministry in Chirijuyu.

11- health – I have a few parasites and there’s been quite a few people on our squad with the same thing so just prayers that sickness would leave in the name of Jesus so we can give our all every day in ministry and for the Lord‘s supernatural protection over our health.

12 – Lastly, prayers again for open hearts and hands. Prayers that my team would always look to the Lord first during ministry and constantly walking in obedience. Pray that we would walk by the spirit always and that we would always show love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control in all things. Pray that joy and love is brought to these villages because of Jesus. Pray for praise to be brought back to the hills, and pray for open hearts to receive the fullness of all the Lord has in Chirijuyu, Cajagualten, and all of Guatemala.

Thank you for reading this today, I would love for us to partner in ministry through prayer! I still need about $3000 to be fully funded so please prayerfully consider donating and partnering with me financially as well. If you have any questions, feel free to comment or email me I’d love to chat! I can’t wait to share more testimonies of how the Lord continues to move here. You are seen, known, and loved by the creator of the universe!

Til next time,
