Well, we made it! Santiago Chile, we have arrived! Our 34-hour travel day began at 2am (which to be honest none of us slept before that lol). We then got on a shuttle to go to the airport in Atlanta and after a short layover we hopped on our first plane to fly to Boston (I still don’t understand that one?!?) Then after getting our bags, checking them again and going through security for the 2nd time that day it was time to hurry up and wait. After a 6-hour layover in Boston we were off to Houston, this time with only a few hours layover. Then it was finally time! To be honest there were times where I didn’t know if I could even get on the plane. I mean how do you prepare yourself to walk on a plane knowing that the moment it takes off that is the last time you will be on American soil for 11 months! The land where all my family, all my security and everything familiar to me is. This was the end of the absolute end of my comfort zone! I know it sounds a little dramatic but as I walked down that terminal with my backpack on and ticket and passport held in shaking hands I took the “Impossible steps” down the tunnel and as traffic stopped at the last step to the plan I made the final decision that “Yes, Jesus is worth it!” He is worth my life, my heart, and all my comfort zone! So as the people began to move I took the last impossible step onto the plane and so the adventure began! Now don’t get me wrong it wasn’t all brave face. I definitely sat down in my seat and began to cry (which is exactly what happens when you tell yourself for 2 weeks of goodbyes not to cry and then the volcano finally erupts lol) but after the final call home and a few deep breaths I was ready and after a 10-hour flight we arrived in Santiago Chile. Although its hard and uncomfortable, I know Jesus is always worth it and He will help me make the impossible steps along this journey!
He is Love, let Love use me!
