choose.

what a powerful word.

If there is any word I could sum up this trip in, it’s choose.

from day one, it’s something I had to do.

I had to choose.

This journey has taught me a lot about love and a lot about marriage and a lot about life.

choices. opportunities. challenges. etc.

all of these things can be put right in front of you, but it is up to you to decide what to make it.

I’ve learned to choose positivity.

I’ve learned to choose to believe that the Lord will heal sickness, and I’ve seen Him do it right before my very eyes.

I’ve learned to choose love, even when I wasn’t feeling it.

I’ve learned to choose into community.

I’ve learned to choose to be intentional.

I’ve learned to choose to forgive.

I’ve learned to choose laughter and joy.

I’ve learned to choose to see His goodness.

I’ve learned to choose to take the high road.

I’ve learned to choose not to quit, not to give up.

I’ve learned to choose to get through the hard things.

you can choose to sink. or you can choose to swim.

you can choose positive or negative.

you can choose to believe the Lord can do it or you can choose to believe He can’t.

you can choose Jesus or you can choose the world.

you can choose community or you can choose yourself.

you can choose laughter or you can choose self pity.

you can choose to see His goodness or you can choose to not.

you can choose to embrace each day or you can choose to push through each day.

you can choose to see the good or you can choose to see the bad.

you can choose to rely on the Lord or you can choose to rely on yourself.

you can choose intentionality or you can choose to go through the motions.

you can choose to love even when it gets hard, or you can choose to quit.

all of that sounds a little harsh and pretty raw, because it is. But ultimately, it’s all truth. It’s truth I’ve learned as a lesson, and it’s a lesson I’ve taken into action. And its an action I’ve taken that’s impacted my life and the lives around me.

So choose!

choose Jesus. even though you don’t always understand His plans.

choose joy. even when life is looking a bit down.

choose peace. even when you can’t feel peace.

choose to see the good. even when you’ve been hurt.

choose to believe in yourself. even when you want to quit.

choose to believe He’ll carry you through. because He will!

choose forgiveness. even though its difficult.

choose love.

choose to love.

choose to love even when its hard.
