If you haven’t heard from me in awhile, please check for updates from them as well! 3) It looks like we’re going to have unreliable dial-up connections, so I will try to do the time-consuming computer tasks as I am able (sending pictures, replying to emails… etc). 4) Remember that no news really is good news! Things have been going amazing well so far!
We spent several days in Matamoros, preparing and seeking the Lord. We learned many things, like how to wash our clothes in a bucket and the correct way to eat a banana (seriously!). The most powerful and meaningful lesson (to me), however, came from our B Squad leader, Chad Mast, who is returning to us from the ’06 Race. He talked about the importance of realizing that we are all one Body. As such, we all NEED each other. Romans 12:4-5 says that “In Christ, we who are many form one body, and each member belongs to all the others. Chad encouraged us to remember that first and foremost, we all love Jesus and we are, therefore, brothers and sisters. While I miss my family and friends back home very much, I have found family here in the Body of Christ as well. Please pray that we will always love each other as family.
We have been blessed with some additional training for our first week in Palenque. We have an amazing staff training us: Seth Barnes, Gary Black, and Andrew Sheamen, just to name a few (see my links on the lefthand side of the page to check out their pages).
GOD IS REALLY BLOWING ME AWAY!!!!! He is teaching me who I am in Him: Daughter, Princess, Fierce Warrior! He is empowering me in the gifts He has given me (prayer ministry, healing, discernment, mercy, encouragement). God is revealing to me that there is a war raging in the spiritual realms. Here’s the cool part: As His daughter, He has given me His power and His authority! I am convinced that during the next year, God will use my hands to HEAL THE SICK (yes, I believe God still does that). Why does He actually, physically heal the sick? Because they’re sick! And He loves them! In the next year, God will use me to STAND AGAINST DEMONS (yes, I believe they are real, and that they are NOT to be feared – we have ALL authority over them in the Name of Jesus Christ). The people of this world are the Lord’s. We are going to remind the devil of that. I pray that in the next year, God will use my love, my arms, maybe even my words to reveal HIS LOVE to HIS CHILDREN, that they might respond by giving their hearts to the Lover of their souls.
