I knew the title would catch your attention! Team Agapelution (Agapetos plus half of Revolution) spent one week in Nicaragua before heading to Costa Rica. This is Nicaragua in Review…
Miraculous Healing, the firsthand account of fellow racer Scott Molgard:
¨She died three times. That is what we were told yesterday.
On Tuesday we went to a park in Diriamba. We got called over to pray for a family that works in a little snack shack. I wasn’t even sure what we were praying for. It was mostly in spanish, and we were praying for healing.
The night we had prayed for healing, it was the mother of one of the girls in the snack shop who we had prayed for. I found out that she had an ‘incurable’ disease, and the night we prayed the woman died. She was revived three times. The next morning she got out of bed and started living again. This is what we were told. The morning after dying, this woman was brought to the clinic, where the doctors were amazed because she had no traces of the disease left. It is by the smiles on the faces of the girls that I believe this.¨
The Harvest
As World Racers, we want to love people and meet the needs of people. We also recognize that the greatest need is Jesus Christ. I WANT people to know Jesus. I want people to know his love, his intimacy, his grace, his freedom. I want them to know abundant life. I always thought that telling people about Jesus was complicated. Don´t get me wrong, wisdom is always called for when talking about Jesus, but I never realized that it can be so easy!
Let me explain… We spent much of our time in Nicaragua in the barrios, small, poor communities. We would simply walk up to their house and get to know them. Then we would offer to pray for any need that they had. We had people praying at all times, and God granted us a degree of discernment in order to ¨read the situation.¨ Every day we went into the barrios, we saw people give their lives to the Lord Jesus! Every day!
One day, we walked into a house with two women. We talked for a minute and prayed for a baby of one of the women. Then pastor Manuel just shared about Jesus! It was so simple! He told them how we have all sinned, and how the punishment of sin is death and separation from God. Then he told them how God sent His only son, Jesus, to take the punishment for our sin and to conquer the powers of darkness. When he died and rose again, he made it possible for us to have a realtionship with God!
Both women decided that they wanted to know this Jesus! AMEN! What a blessing to be a part of God changing lives! Please continue to pray for this area, as Team Nessa and half of team Revolution remain there, working-loving in those barrios.
