And so the next adventure begins!  While A Squad is loving the people of Via El Salvador (near Lima), the Lord has called us to the highlands.  We are living in a little village called Mushu, located at about 10,000 ft elevation in the Andes mountains.  (God amazes me.  Every time I look up, I see some new and beautiful creation of His.)  I literally have my head in the clouds!  The people of Mushu are mostly indigenous and speak a language called Quechua (luckily, most people here also know Spanish).  We will be serving a local church and just loving the people around us.  It is likely that each team will spend one week of the month travelling to more remote villages in the mountains.

(Pictures taken by Eric Hanson).  It is definitely colder in the mountains!  We were very blessed by A Squad, as they are letting us borrow all their warm clothes.  The weather is actually a nice change of pace, and with a view like this, it is worth it.  The nearest city, however, is about an hour away, so it looks like we will be online about once per week.

I am confident that the Father has called us here.  God gave us this word from Exodus when we arrived in Peru: “My Presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.”  Amen.  We have already begun to connect with the people of Mushu, and I just have this feeling that He has huge plans for our time here.  An intercessory team is beginning to form, and I sense that God will use us to call down His Kingdom of light.  As a team of Racers, we bring His Presence with us, and therefore His redemption, His freedom, His hope, and His abundant life.  Please pray that God gives us HIS heart for Peru and the people we meet.  Pray that we awake every morning with “Yes, Lord!” on our hearts.

Stay tuned for more updates on what God is doing in the mountains of Peru!
