After spending five days debriefing at beautiful Ko Samet, an island off the Thai coast, we are changing gears again and ramping up for a month in Cambodia!

We are partnering with Phonke and Hayi, a phillipino couple who moved to Siem Reap one year ago.  Their heart’s desire was to show the love of Jesus Christ by meeting felt needs in the community.  It wasn’t long before they realized that many of the children could not attend school due to lack of money.  So they decided to open a school that will be free for the children of the community.  They teach English, computers, and other practical skills that will help the children, teenagers, and some adults find employment.

So, for the next four weeks, I will be Miss Mallorie, a teacher at the Center.  I will be teaching two conversational English courses and one class on Microsoft Powerpoint.  We met the students yesterday, and I am really excited to get to know these kids and teens and bless them any way that I can.

Another interesting twist is that you cannot get anywhere in Siem Reap except by bicycle.  This is of particular interst to me because I never really learned how to ride a bike!  Despite my father’s ferverent efforts, I was never that interested and never got really good at it!  SO now I get to learn how to ride a bike (in a skirt and flip flops mind you) on the insane roads of Cambodian motoscooter, car, and tuk tuk traffick!

Please keep our team in your prayers, as Siem Reap is the “hub” of much of the Cambodian spirituality.  Specific strongholds here are confusion, miscommunication, and division.  Also, please pray for us during this first week of classes.  More Cambodian updates are coming soon.  Stay tuned…

I’m yours for the Journey.
