If many of you are like me, the future is very important to you. It’s not unusual to have the next step of your life planned out. Whether it has to do with school, jobs, family, or even what you are planning to wear tomorrow (that may be only a girl thing haha). Having that control over our lives is important to us. We like to feel secure in our decisions. It is easy to trust ourselves, because we believe we know ourselves the best. It can be difficult to think that someone else knows us more. It’s not your best friend, or your parents, not even your siblings. God is the only one who truly knows us inside and out.

I wish I could say trusting God is easy for me, but in reality, I struggle with the complete surrender of things I find comfort in. Letting go can make us feel uncomfortable. Being uncomfortable brings about growth. Allowing God to be in control of every situation is tough, but possible. Last year, I was hurt time after time again by the same person. I continued to try and fix my situation on my own. The more I tried to heal alone, the more I hurt. The Lord definitely taught me a lesson about letting go (and also forgiveness, but that’s another story)! Once I finally gave it to God, he began to heal my heart. Not only did he heal my heart, but also made me a stronger person in my faith and my relationship with him. Let me tell you, when you fully give everything to God life is not the same. That situation you’ve been trying to deal with by yourself, give it to God. I promise he will give you peace in the midst of it all. We serve a God who doesn’t overlook anything.

Do not be afraid of them; the Lord your God himself will fight for you. Deuteronomy 3:22

What is God’s next move? A question I wish I knew the answer to, but Gods timing is perfect. Until it’s time for his “next move” to take place, putting our trust in God will open our eyes to his goodness. He is still faithful in every circumstance.

God knows what he is doing.

During my family’s recent devotions my parents showed us a video that really encouraged me. The speaker said that we have a future. That our future is a person and that person is God. He isn’t just a part our life, but He is our life.

Making God the center of it all is challenging, but so rewarding. His plan for each one of us is greater than we can imagine. He knows what he is doing and He is our life.

So, what’s next?
