“The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.” Deuteronomy 31:8
Throughout the Bible, God reveals many promises he has for us. He promises to give us a hope and a future, freedom, comfort, healing and so much more. These promises are not feelings. That statement might sound kind of weird, but it’s something I think a lot of us struggle with in our relationship with Christ. If we don’t feel comfort, then God isn’t there. If we don’t experience healing, then God isn’t listening to my prayers. If my future isn’t looking so hot, then God doesn’t care.
**I didn’t mean to rhyme, but it’s just what I do #swag**
Putting God’s promises before my feelings has been something I’ve been working a lot on recently. I want my life to be a reflection of who God is and what he has done in my life. I may not always feel God, but then again, he isn’t a feeling. God is the ultimate creator, provider, the miracle worker, our protector, the definition of perfect love! The God who gave life to dry bones is the same God living inside of us!! (Ezekiel 37) If that doesn’t get you hype… c’mon somebody! God will never change. Nor will his promises. Let’s put our trust in our heavenly father and remind ourselves that God is for us and not against us. Rest in his promises, you’re not in this alone.
