At the beginning of the race we were given squad leaders for each team. My team was blessed with Alexis Sills. Last year she ended world race that was 11 months to 11 different countries. She only had a month or two at home and then was about to leave again to lead my squad. With only a short amount of time to prepare to leave for another 9 months, I can say that she has done an incredible job.
Alexis is someone who is always so joyful. Every morning I see her, I am always greeted by a smile and a question about how I am doing. She laughs at the corkiest things and sometimes I don’t know why she’s laughing but I laugh with her. Whenever I need to talk she’s always there for me. She is honest and doesn’t shy away from calling people higher. She loves working out and loves good food. Her spirit is kind and she is a very intentional person. She loves music and is a really talented artist.
One thing that Alexis has told me is that in a dry season it may seem like the Lord isn’t doing anything, but in fact he is. And the growth that I have been through can’t reverse when I make a mistake. It just means I have more growing to do. She’s helped me and encouraged me through so much for these 9 months. I’m so thankful for her and everything she’s done for me and our squad.
