On this day 10 months ago I wrote myself a letter right before we left for our first country. I read it sometime after being home and it really encouraged me. I hope it encourages you too.
Dear Malia,
You have been looking forward to this since you got accepted. The Lord has been so faithful to you since the day you were born. Remember this. In times where life doesn’t make sense, look to God. When you don’t feel like it, look to Him. He is the only one in your life that can bring you peace, joy, and unfailing love. Don’t look back. Only forward. This is only the beginning of the next chapter God has for you. When it feels like the world is against you and life just sucks, remember who holds you. And please, please don’t forget it. The enemy will attack you, but don’t forget who you are. You are a child of God. Keep discovering what that means, even if you already have a good idea. Because the Father is always surprising us. Right now I have had a hard time with identity. Who am I? What am I doing here? Why has God called me to do this? Obedience? Yes. But most importantly…because God wants to use you and he has such amazing plans for you. Don’t sit when God has called us to stand. Don’t stand when he’s called us to walk. And why walk? When he has called us to run in freedom. Never stop running and constantly pursuing God to advance the kingdom. He truly loves you. He left the 99 to find the one. That’s you.
Love,
Malia
