Last Saturday we went to an elephant sanctuary and got to spend half of the day with Thai elephants! This sanctuary is dedicated to keeping elephants in their own environment, and allowing people to see what their life is like without changing it. This elephant in the first picture is actually pregnant! Elephants are pregnant for 2 years and this mamma is half way through.
We got got to feed them bananas and bamboo. We would hold out the banana and say “bon bon” and then the elephant would take the banana in its trunk.
We got to give them a mud bath.
And we got to splash around in the mud too!
We had a lot of fun hanging out with the elephants and I’m so glad I went!
