Just a few short weeks ago I decided to take a semester off of college in order to dedicate my time to serving others. Many people have asked what made me decide to go on this trip. All I can say is that as soon as I saw the description of the Philippines track on the Adventures In Missions website, I knew it was where God wanted me. It read, “helping to save children from the sex-trafficking industry and raise orphaned and at-risk youth. You’ll share the love of Christ by administering disaster relief, helping to care for orphans, serving in birth clinics, facilitating youth camps, ministering to children, and doing light construction”. The thought of telling children that they have the everlasting love of Jesus when they think that they don’t have anyone else is incredibly exciting to me. While I am excited but nervous about my upcoming trip, I have no doubt that god will protect me the whole way, and I hope to make a difference in the life of someone in need.
