Hey guys! So this is where you will be able to follow up with what I am doing while I am out in the field! Currently, I am not on the field, but I figured I could talk about why I am doing this trip in the first place. (I realize at this moment I am not very good at blogging, please stay with me, I promise to get better.)
OK! Let’s get into this! About a year ago, I had a friend tell me all about this long term missions trip that she was going on. I was super interested in it and ended up doing a lot of research on the World Race Gap Year program. Eventually, I tabled that idea and didn’t think about it again until the spring break of my senior year. I was looking at the World Race website and felt the urge that I was supposed to apply. So I did. I remember after I applied, I texted my dad and it said, “I just applied to a 9-month missions program, we should probably talk about that.” We did talk about that and continued to seek wisdom and pray about the whole situation. Two weeks later I was leading worship at my church as we were singing the song, “So Will I (100 Billion X)” by Hillsong United. In the bridge, it says, “If the wind goes where you send it so will I,” and as we sang that lyric I had this wave come over me and in that moment I knew I was supposed to go on this trip.
So that means college has been put on hold for the time being. I plan on attending eventually, but I know that this is an opportunity that I will rarely get again. Getting to take this next year and really find who I am in Christ really excites me and so going to college can wait. (Sorry, not sorry
)
Now I am in it. There is no turning back. I am 50% fear and 50% faith, and I know that God will come in and make it all work. I cannot wait to see what He will do. As I sit here in the comfort of my home in Middle Tennessee, I anticipate the good He will do on this upcoming trip, and I trust that He will change my world view forever.
