So we have officially arrived in the Dominican Republic and I couldn't be any more excited about it. Our host's name is Juan and he is the most generous and giving person I have ever met. I'm not sure that I've seen him without a smile on his face yet, and that makes me happy. He has gone above and beyond to keep us not only safe, but also comfortable and provided for.

When we got off of the plane we found Juan in the airport, and even from that moment he had us covered. We left the port and the 13 people I'm with piled into two vans with all of our gear and made our hour long trek to his Church in Santo Domingo. It's a simple church with four walls and a roof, but The Lord is doing great things there.

From there we went to the building we're staying for the month, and it is beautiful. If I didn't know better I would think I was on vacation. There are 3 bedrooms two patios and a roof that we have full access to any time while the sun is up. Juan is very focused on keeping us safe, so he told us "no roof after day." We figured it best to follow his orders and have stayed off the roof at night, and I must say, it is quite beautiful to watch the sun sink down into the distance behind the houses and mango trees in the evening.

Something else that he explained to us was that in the Dominican they might say that we're going to start at 7:30, but what that really means is 8 or 8:30 at best. They don't really follow the clock and they just go around the time they're told to.

I will say that Juan and his church are trying to purchase the ground they're located on from the government which is a grueling process and has taken them a lot of time so far, and they're looking at about two more months at least before they can have all the paper work done and after that they will need to find the money to buy it. He's been praying and praying for the money to come in for the land and he has faith that God will provide, because lets face it, thats what God does, so if you feel like Juan is the type of person you would like to support, keep following my blog and read the next story about him. There will be more information about Juan to come, but in the meantime keep praying for him, and for me, and for our ministry here this month. I will be doing door to door ministry and sharing the gospel with people who speak a completely different language and possibly preaching to a crowd of people who also speak spanish, with a translator who speaks very broken english. It should be fun!

I love you all and thank you for supporting me!! subscribe and follow me!
